Download six (6) law reports from the Westlaw database Any law report after 2017 is acceptable. The law reports must be related to the following sub-topics, i.e. one law report for each sub-topic below:
Required for each law report:
i. Each group representative is to reserve the six (6) law reports that the group has selected at the WBLE “Link to reserve law reports.
ii. The other groups are no longer allowed to select the same law reports.
iii. Provide a write-up on your review of the law report. For example, the topic that the law report covers, who the parties involved, the facts of the case, the nature of dispute among the parties, the legal issues raised, and the court’s decision on the case.
iv. You may discuss this with your tutor in order to confirm your understanding. However, note that you are not allowed to ask your tutor to explain to you what the law report is all about. You need to put in the effort to read and understand first, and your tutor is only to confirm what you have understood.
v. The objective of this assignment is to help you develop the skills to read law reports, in order to understand the process of how disputes are decided upon by the courts.
