In Barrat, the law states that every male who has attained the age of 18 years old will have to attend national services for 2 years. The people in Barrat opposed and criticized the government law saying that it is wasting the government’s money and wasting their life for attending such worthless services.
The regime makes the national services mandatory because they want their citizen to be prepared if the country engages in a war with their enemy. For those who did not fulfill their national services would be sentenced to death or placed on the frontline of the Barrat army which almost invariably would lead to death in combat. Connor, who turned 18 years old last month, refused to attend the national services because he has to work to help his poor family. He has a bedridden mother who suffered from a severe stroke and 2 little brothers who are still in school. The Barrater regime found out about Connor and sent him to the frontline of the Barrat army. Dissatisfied with the regime’s decision towards Connor, you as a young lawyer wish to bring action against the regime on the ground of justice and morality.
